Understanding Task Details - iOS

Everything you need to know about about the Details tab of the task in the iOS app.

Tapping on a task will open it and take you to the Details tab of the Task. Important information you can find here includes:

Task information

Displays general information on the task including:

  • Task name, ref and category and description

  • Tolerance date range (the date range in which the task needs to be performed to be considered completed within tolerance)

  • Estimated duration, which will come from duration settings on a routine or quote, depending on the category of the task you're looking at

  • Assigned Technician

  • Access to the tasks Timeline, where you can see task events or notes made in regards to the task you're viewing. You can also your add your own notes to the timeline which can be seen by the office

  • Documents uploaded against the task. Images you add here can be seen by the office


Property Information

Displays property details including:

  • Property name and address

  • Zone (if your business uses Zones)

  • Name of the Primary Contact

  • Map details, including the ability to move the map pin to a different location and launch driving directions with your default navigation app


Appointment Details

If already scheduled, in this section you will see the scheduled time, notes, and the assigned technicians. Appointment details can also be edited here


Scope of Works

If the task came from a quote, the information provided in the Scope of Works will be displayed here. If the task was generated from a routine, the routines will be listed in this section.


Contacts

Other contacts listed for the property. You can initiate email or phone contact with any property contacts listed here. You can also view a full list of all contacts on the property and add additional contacts.


Authorisation details

Authorisation ref, amount, name of the authoriser, authorisation date and any notes in this regard. The authorisation amount is the pre-approved limit for additional charges to the client on this task.


Extra fields

Any additional task fields that have been configured in your system. If your business does not use any extra fields on tasks will see nothing here.



Task categories

The 3 task categories you will typically encounter are Inspection, Repair and Callout. They are not the only categories that tasks can have, as it's possible to create custom categories from the desk side of Uptick.

Inspection

An inspection task is a task that is generated from a routine. Only inspection tasks have the means to set the compliance status of an asset by way of providing either a pass, fail, or no test. The items to be performed in inspection tasks will appear in the Work tab of the task. You will learn more about this on the Performing inspections page of this course section.


Repair

A repair task is a task that has been generated from an approved defect quote. The products quoted in the defect quote will be in the items in the task listed under the Products tab of the task. Repair tasks involve resolving defects found in the last inspection and marking each one as performed. You will learn more about this on the Performing repairs page of this course section.


Callout

A callout task is a task that is raised manually, or generated from a service quote. The products quoted in the service quote will also be listed in the products tab, but will not necessarily involve defect rectification though still involve.
