Important: Field staff must press play/pause when performing tasks and submit their timesheets in the Uptick App for data to be captured accurately.
Viewing Real-Time Technician Activity
Access the Realtime Activity Dashboard to see what your technicians are doing right now.
How to Access
On the Uptick Web Platform:
Go to Insights and Reports from the main navigation
Select Realtime Activity Dashboard
Or from your main Dashboard:
The Realtime Technician Activity map is also available as a tile on your main dashboard
What You'll See
Feature | Description |
Map View | Shows current locations of technicians (indicated by initials) and active tasks (shown as colored dots based on task status) |
Technician Name | Lists each active technician |
Started | The time the technician began their first task |
Today's Sessions | A visual timeline showing travel time vs. work time |
Productivity | Percentage breakdown of travel time compared to on-site work |
Performed Service Tasks | Number of tasks completed so far today |
Remark Events | Count of remarks added (+), resolved (-), or verified (β) |
Reviewing Timesheet Data
Once technicians submit their timesheets, you can review and approve their hours.
Where to Find Timesheets
Go to Tools > Timesheets and click on the colored blocks next to a specific technician to:
View their submitted sessions
Edit session details if needed
Approve or reject timesheet entries
See weekly and monthly totals
Note: Timesheets update every 60 minutes after submission.
Understanding the Difference: Real-Time vs. Historical
Uptick offers two different ways to track technician activity:
Realtime Activity Dashboard (This Article)
Purpose: Monitor current, live activity
Best for: Checking where technicians are right now, tracking today's productivity
Access: Insights and Reports > Realtime Activity Dashboard
Technician Activity Dashboard
Purpose: Analyze historical performance data
Best for: Monthly performance reviews, trend analysis, resource planning
Access: Insights and Reports > Workforce Performance > Click into any technician's row
Troubleshooting
Not seeing any technician activity?
Confirm technicians are pressing play/pause on tasks in the Uptick App
Check that technicians have submitted their timesheets
Verify the Timesheets module is enabled for your account
Map not loading?
Refresh your browser
Check your internet connection
Ensure technicians have location services enabled on their devices
