When will FireMate Desktop be discontinued?

The FireMate Desktop product will be discontinued (also commonly referred to as 'retired' or 'sunsetted') on 1st December 2025.

This includes all versions and functionality related to the product including mobile apps and desktop access. If you do not upgrade to Uptick or migrate your data to another job management software by the 1st December 2025 then you will have no longer be able to access any data currently stored in FireMate.

If you choose to move to another job management system then you are able to request a full database export from your FireMate account via the FireMate support team. This is a free service.

We have made a significant investment in an automated data migration from FireMate to Uptick. If you choose to move to the Uptick Workforce product then you can expect a semi-automated data migration path. Full details of the data fields included in the migration are listed here.

In order to ensure a clean data migration, a series of data quality checks and mapping of data from FireMate to Uptick is required. There are two data preparation tasks you need to complete:

Once completed then your data migration can be done.

Frequently asked questions

Why do software products get discontinued?

Most software products reach an end-of-life point at some stage. It is typically when the maintenance costs of developing and updating the software outweigh the revenues generated. By simplifying their product suite, software companies are also able to invest more in their remaining products and innovate faster to ensure their customers get the most value for their money.

How do I know if this affects me?

If you are a FireMate desktop customer then you will currently be accessing FireMate via a FireMate icon on your Microsoft computer. Your billing contact and primary contact (if applicable) will also have received an official email with notice of the discontinuation.

What does a full database export include?

A full database export includes a .csv file of your data. This will be shared as a zip file stored in a Google Drive folder and shared with you.

If you are an Uptick customer holding a FireMate license or database for historical records then these files will be exported from FireMate and stored in your Uptick server in an accessible format such as csv files.
