Multiple accounting organisations can be connected to a single Uptick workspace. One is set as the default for general use, while others must be manually selected on specific billing cards to ensure correct syncing.

Occasionally, the accounting partner integration may not work as intended. Common alerts include: Error messages related to token expiry, invalid grants or authorisation failures. To resolve this:
Ensure you are signed to your accounting partner.
Navigate to Control Panel > Accounting, click the dropdown next to the Edit button on the integration and select Disconnect.

If you’re operating in the United States, there are only two options on the invoice: TAX or EXEMPT. Uptick does not calculate tax rates directly. Instead, it sends the billing address to your connected accounting system, which determines the correct tax rate based on location.

GST, Standard VAT, Reduced Rate VAT, Reverse Charge Reduced Rate VAT, Zero-Rated, Tax Exempt are available across all accounting integrations in the supported regions. However, there are exceptions:
Reverse Charge Reduced Rate VAT and Reverse Charge Standard VAT: only supported in Xero, and must be manually enabled within your Xero account settings.
Reduced Rate VAT: In Ireland, the reduced VAT codes are not included in Xero by default. Two custom tax rates with the exact names: Sales Reduced Rate and VAT on Purchases for resale 13.5% (case-sensitive) must be created.
Reverse Charge Zero-Rated: Only supported for Business Central and Sage 50.

If a record was created in Uptick and already synced to the Accounting Partner:
Delete or void the corresponding record in the Accounting Partner.
Open the record in Uptick, click Detach in the Integration section, then update it to either make Inactive or delete.

Why isn’t a billing card or supplier appearing in Uptick after syncing from Xero?
The Uptick Billing Card and Supplier sync with Xero will only pull through contacts that have an invoice (for Billing Cards) or a bill (for Suppliers) raised against them in Xero. This is a limitation of how Xero’s API works.
Raise a $0 invoice or bill against the contact in Xero, then re-run the sync in Uptick.

Xero only supports a maximum of two active tracking categories at a time. This is a limitation of Xero’s platform and applies to all integrations, including Uptick.

A QuickBooks Plus subscription is strongly recommended for full compatibility with Uptick. Lower-tier plans can still connect to Uptick, however there will be limitations such as not being able to sync Products which would affect invoicing, purchase orders and other components.

Unlike other accounting integrations that use account codes on each line item, QuickBooks requires a Product/Service to achieve the same effect.
Three codes need to be provided with products (income/expense/inventory) when pushing them through to QBO. The inventory code, which is needed for pushing Material type Products, must be configured by setting up a Product custom field in Uptick with key asset_account_code
. Make sure that the account code you use in this field corresponds to an inventory account.

This error appears when Uptick and QuickBooks have conflicting invoice numbering settings. It is recommended to disable Custom transaction numbers in Quickbooks. Navigate to Settings > Accounts & Settings > Sales > Sales form content, then turn off Custom transaction numbers and save.
