Add Major Services While Onsite for Routine Tasks

How technicians can use the app to perform major services while onsite for another task.

What You'll Learn: How technicians can identify and perform major services on assets while already onsite for routine maintenance, reducing the need for return visits.


Overview

This feature helps your field team work more efficiently by flagging assets that need major servicing soon. When technicians are onsite for routine maintenance, they can see which assets have major services due within 3 months and complete them during the same visit.

Benefits:

  • Reduce return visits and travel time

  • Capture additional revenue opportunities

  • Keep assets compliant without scheduling delays

  • Available on both iOS and Android


Before You Start

Prerequisites:


Office Setup

Step 1: Enable the Feature for Routine Levels

  1. Go to Control Panel > Routines

  2. Select the asset-based service level from the Levels column

  3. Click Update

  4. Tick Suggest to technician when onsite

  5. Click Update

Step 2: Configure Products

Set up default products for each major service level in the Non-Contracted Servicing dashboard. See Managing Non-Contracted Asset Servicing for detailed instructions.


How It Works in the Field

What Technicians See

On the Dashboard (Appointments Only):

  • Tasks with upcoming major services show a notification badge

  • The badge displays the number of assets requiring major services

On the Task Tab:

  • A message shows Additional suggested material you may need

  • Tap to view the materials list

On Assets:

  • Assets due within 3 months show a flag (e.g., 5Y DUE SOON or 5Y OVERDUE)

  • The notification appears when viewing the asset details

Important Notes

  • Major services are flagged 3 months before or after the due date

  • The task's service group must match the asset's service level

  • Assets without base dates won't be flagged


Performing Major Services in the App

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Start your routine inspection

    • Go to the Work tab and perform inspections as usual

  2. Identify flagged assets

    • Look for assets with notifications like 5Y DUE SOON or 5Y OVERDUE

  3. Add the major service

    • Tap on the flagged asset

    • You'll see a notification about the due/overdue major service

    • Tap Add Service

    • Confirm by tapping Add Service again

  4. Complete the service details

    • The required product is automatically selected

    • Is performed is automatically toggled on

    • Update the following as needed:

      • bSecure or barcode

      • Base date (required)

      • Installation date

      • Service result (Pass or Fail required)

  5. Save the service

    • Tap Add to continue

    • If you didn't update the base date, you'll be prompted to do so

    • Tap Save to complete

  6. Repeat for other assets

    • Continue this process for all flagged assets


Troubleshooting

Assets aren't showing as due:

  • Check that assets have base dates configured

  • Verify the asset is linked to an asset-based routine service level

  • Ensure the task's service group matches the asset's service level

  • Confirm the major service is within the 3-month window

Can't add a major service:

  • Verify the feature is enabled for your routine level

  • Check that default products are configured

  • Ensure you have the correct permissions
