Frequently asked questions on major/asset-based/non-contracted servicing

Written by Teresa Bui

What is asset-based servicing, and why would I use it?

Asset-based servicing calculates service due dates from each asset’s individual Base Date instead of using one property-wide routine date. This is useful when assets on the same property have different compliance cycles, such as extinguisher hydrostatic testing or 6-yearly inspections.

Why aren't all assets visible on the Non-Contracted Servicing Dashboard?

If some assets are not displayed, check that all of the following conditions are met:

  • The Asset-Based routine service level on the property must be disabled (i.e. unticked) on the property. Only non-contracted levels appear on this dashboard.

  • The asset’s type and variant do not exclude the asset-based level.

  • The asset on the property has a Base Date that falls within the range of years displayed on the dashboard.

  • If Branches are enabled, the user must belong to the same Branch as the property to see its assets.

What is “Warning: X assets without base date” on the Non-Contracted Servicing Dashboard?

One or more applicable assets are missing a Base Date, so they won’t appear on the dashboard. Click the warning to view a filtered list of those assets and update their Base Dates as needed.

Can multiple products be configured for a variant on the dashboard?

Only one product can be set per variant for non-contracted, asset-based major servicing. This setup ensures that during quoting, the predefined product is automatically applied, eliminating the need for manual edits.
