A recurring appointment is a forecasted placeholder in the technician's calendar. When generated, tasks are automatically scheduled during the recurring appointment time. Note: this is different from scheduling non-task events (such as leave or regular breaks) in the Scheduler — see Scheduling leave and other events for that.
A recurring appointment applies to future appointments that are not yet linked to a task. Appointments already created against a task do not move.
To ensure tasks are scheduled correctly, allocate a default field user per service group on the property.
How to create a recurring appointment
1. Navigate to Customer Data > Properties, View the property and go to the Routines tab.
2. Click the routine service in the first column to open its editor, then select the level in the left panel.
3. Turn on Recurring appointment.
4. Set the Format (for example, by weekday), On the (for example, Second), Weekday and Start time. Available options vary depending on the frequency of the level.
5. Click Save changes.
Once a recurring appointment is created, a calendar icon appears next to the routine name on the grid. Hover it to see each level's schedule.
The forecasted appointment is visible on the Scheduler if a default technician has been set up.
Set the recurring appointment on the most frequent level only. Setting one on several levels of the same routine creates duplicate appointments when those levels are combined into a single task.
