Where can notes be added?

Notes can be added across various Uptick modules, such as tasks, defect quotes, service reports, and more. These notes help track updates and maintain clear communication among team members.

What are the different types of notes?

  • Timeline notes help track chronological updates and activities.

  • Internal notes, used in modules such as defect quotes and tasks, are intended for internal collaboration.

  • Technician notes on the task capture work progress or issues specific to technicians and are included in service reports.

  • Contractor notes on the task are added by contractors performing work.

Do notes carry over between objects?

Internal notes added in certain objects automatically carry over to related objects. For example, an internal note added to the defect quote will become the internal note on the created repair task

Who can see the notes?

All notes are visible to users with desk and field licenses, provided they have the necessary permissions. For example, to view internal notes on a property, the user must have the “Can view property” permission enabled.

When included in shared documents such as invoices and reports, notes are visible to all parties. The default service report displays technician notes on tasks and general and critical notes on reports. Invoice notes added to tasks are visible on the invoice.
