Contractor Portal

What information can contractors see on a task?

Contractors can see the Task ID, Name, Description, Scope of Works, Due Date, Approval Limit, Contractor Notes, Property Address, Reference, Access Details, Service Requirements, Safety Requirements, and any Property Contacts marked as public.

They can also view documents uploaded to a “subcontractor” folder in the task’s Documents tab, dynamic digital forms and action checklists attached to the task, and the order number and subtotal sent to that contractor on that task.

To regulate contractor access to pricing and billing information within the contractor portal, navigate to the contractor’s security group settings. Locate the "can view pricing information" permission and disable it. This action ensures contractors cannot see cost or sell price figures when viewing task details.

Which users can view all contractor tasks?

Only the Primary Account user can see all tasks assigned to the contractor. Additional users, whether technicians or not, can only view tasks assigned to them directly.

Contractor App

Are Contractor Portal and Contractor App users different?

Contractor Portal users have free access but are limited to the Contractor Portal. Contractor App users require a paid licence and gain access to the Uptick Workforce app, which includes:

  • Prompt question responses

  • Access to floorplans and the product catalogue

  • Adding assets and defects

In addition, the tasks can be scheduled on the web for contract app users.

What is the Additional Charge Per Licence for the Contractor App addon?

Pricing varies by country and subscription agreement. Contact your Uptick representative or email [email protected] for details.

How do I set up a Contractor App user?

Please review How to enable Contractor App Addon.

Can Contractors with the App Add-on see pricing?

Contractors using the Contractor App are restricted from viewing pricing-related information if the corresponding permission is disabled in their security group settings. Billing information, such as asset service charges, is also inaccessible to contractors when they log in using their accounts.

Are Contractor App and Field users different?

Contractor App users have restricted access compared to Field Users.

They cannot:

  • View or manage Purchase Orders

  • Add Appointments to tasks

  • Access the Authorisation section

  • View client information (except for public property contacts)

  • Add or edit Invoice Notes

  • Create Defect Quotes

  • Dispatch jobs

  • Preview or publish service reports

  • Manage Allowances in Timesheets

How can I see what the Contractor or Contractor app user sees?

For demonstration or presentation purposes, you can simulate a contractor's perspective by using the "assume user profile" function in Uptick. This allows you to preview portal and app views specific to contractor accounts, ensuring accuracy in presentations.
