How to create and manage parent client group

Parent client groups are created and managed the same way as client groups — the only difference is that a parent client group has another client group nested underneath it. To set one up, select an existing client group in the Parent client group field when creating or editing a client group. Client group nesting is limited to two levels. A client group that already has a parent cannot itself be made a parent, so the deepest structure you can build is: Parent client group → Client group → Clients (with their properties below). For example, if Client Group A is the parent of Client Group B, you cannot then nest Client Group C under B — Client Group C must sit directly under Client Group A instead. If you try to add a third level, Uptick won’t save it.

How to Invite users to the client group’s Customer Portal

  1. Create an user with Customer License without any Security Group selected.

  2. Create or edit and existing client group and select the new user in the Accounts field.

  3. Send welcome email to the user.
