The Client Revenue Dashboard shows you which clients generate the most recurring revenue, how your client base is growing, and where your business is concentrated. Use it to prioritize account management, identify growth opportunities, and make strategic decisions about customer focus.

Access: Go to Insights and Reports > Clients

What You'll See

The dashboard provides a high-level overview of your client portfolio with four key metrics and a visual breakdown of client value.

Key Metrics

At the top of the dashboard, you'll see:

  • Active Clients - Total number of active customer accounts

  • Clients Added This Year - New clients acquired since January 1st

  • Inspection Items - Total assets under management across all clients

  • Total Properties - Properties with Active or Setup status

Note: All values are based on the annual value of active billing contracts on client properties.

Client Value Graph

A bubble chart displays your top 20 clients by annual recurring revenue. Each bubble represents one client.

How to Read the Chart:

  • Bubble size - Larger bubbles = higher annual revenue

  • Vertical position - Higher position = more active properties

  • Hover over any bubble to see:

    • Client name

    • Number of active properties

    • Exact annual revenue value

What This Tells You:

  • Large bubbles in upper positions = High-value clients with many properties (your most important accounts)

  • Small bubbles in lower positions = Smaller clients with fewer properties

Client Groups Table

Below the graph, all client groups are displayed in a hierarchical table showing revenue breakdown by property status.

Table Structure

The table organizes clients in three levels:

  1. Parent Client Group - Top-level grouping (e.g., Government, Commercial)

  2. Client Group - Sub-grouping (e.g., Local Government, State Government)

  3. Individual Client - Actual customer accounts

Expand/collapse groups by clicking the arrow (▶/▼) to drill into specific customer segments.

Revenue by Property Status

For each client, revenue is broken down into four categories:

Status

What It Shows

Inactive

Revenue from properties with Inactive status

Setup

Revenue from properties in Setup stage (new or transitioning)

On Hold

Revenue from properties temporarily suspended

Active

Revenue from currently operating properties (most important)

Each category shows:

  • Properties - Count of properties in that status

  • Revenue - Annual recurring revenue from billing contracts

Sorting the Table

  • Default sort: Active Revenue (highest to lowest)

  • Custom sort: Click any column header to sort by that metric

  • Hierarchy maintained: Grouping structure remains even when you re-sort

How Revenue is Calculated

What's Included

✅ Active billing contracts only
✅ Contracts with start dates in the current year or earlier
✅ Both fixed-price and do-and-charge contracts
✅ All property statuses (Active, Inactive, Setup, On Hold)

What's Not Included

❌ Cancelled or ended contracts
❌ Contracts with future start dates
❌ One-off task invoicing (only recurring contracts)

Annual Value Calculation

Fixed-Price Contracts:

Annual Value = Line Item Amount × Billing Frequency

  • Monthly: × 12

  • Bi-monthly: × 6

  • Quarterly: × 4

  • Half-yearly: × 2

  • Annually: × 1

Example: $100 monthly contract = $100 × 12 = $1,200 annual value

Do-and-Charge Contracts:

Annual Value = Expected Visits per Year × Unit Price

Example: Monthly maintenance at $200/visit = 12 visits × $200 = $2,400 annual value

How to Use This Dashboard

Identify Your Top Clients

Review the bubble chart to quickly spot your highest-value accounts. Prioritize these clients for account management and relationship building.

Track Client Growth

Check the "Clients Added This Year" metric to monitor new business acquisition. Compare this to previous periods to identify trends.

Analyze Revenue Distribution

Use the client groups table to understand:

  • Which client segments generate the most revenue

  • How revenue is distributed across property statuses

  • Which clients have properties in Setup or On Hold (potential growth or risk)

Spot Opportunities and Risks

  • High revenue in Inactive properties - Opportunity to reactivate dormant accounts

  • Many properties in Setup - New revenue coming online soon

  • Revenue in On Hold - Accounts at risk that may need attention

Compare Client Portfolios

Sort by different columns to compare:

  • Clients with the most properties

  • Clients with the highest revenue per property

  • Revenue concentration by client group

FAQs

Q: Why does a client show zero revenue?
A: The client has no active billing contracts, or their contracts have future start dates. New clients not yet assigned contracts will show all zeros.

Q: Can I see clients that were added in a specific date range?
A: The "Clients Added This Year" metric shows clients added since January 1st. For custom date ranges, go to People > Clients and use the filter options.

Q: Why is a client not appearing in the bubble chart?
A: The chart shows only the top 20 clients by active revenue. Clients with lower revenue or zero revenue won't appear in the visualization but will still be in the table below.

Q: What if a client has multiple properties with different statuses?
A: Revenue is aggregated separately for each property status. You'll see the breakdown across Inactive, Setup, On Hold, and Active columns.

Q: Can I export this data?
A: Yes, you can export data from the table for further analysis in Excel or other tools.

Q: How often is the data updated?
A: The dashboard reflects real-time data from your active billing contracts. Changes to contracts or property statuses appear immediately.
