Uptick Change Management/Release Process

Updated over a week ago

As Uptick is a cloud solution, we are constantly improving and iterating on our core product. The benefits to this are obvious: bugs are fixed rapidly, new features are constantly rolled out, and existing processes improved.

However, changes can require training or at the very least, notice. For that reason Uptick adheres to the following change management protocol:

  • 2nd Thursday of the month: Change notices sent and sandboxes updated

  • 3rd Thursday of the month: Major release deployed

Change notices

A change notice is sent out on the second Thursday of every month.

This notice will include detailed information about all minor changes, major changes, new functionality, and issued resolved.

You are automatically subscribed to change notices, however, you can opt out of notifications that you don't care about: see the article on "managing your email subscriptions".

Customers on the enterprise plan will have the new release deployed to their sandbox servers at this time.

Major releases

A full week after the change notice has been mailed, a major release will be released starting on the third Thursday of every month.

Rollouts are staged across multiple days, so you may receive the update Thursday, Friday or the following Monday.

All releases will come with an accompanying modal overlay (a popover) which explains the changes in depth.

Minor releases

Minor updates that fix issues or make small improvements to the system will continue to be released after 4 pm. Downtime for these updates is usually less than 30 seconds.
