What You'll Learn

  • How to share property-specific documents

  • How to share client-level documents

  • Where clients access shared documents

  • How to set up default folder structures

Share Property Documents

Use this method to share documents specific to a single property (e.g., site plans, certificates, inspection reports).

On the Uptick Web Platform

  1. Navigate to the property

  2. Click Documents > Add Folder

  3. Name the folder public (must be all lowercase)

  4. Upload files by:

    • Dragging and dropping files into the folder, OR

    • Clicking select files to browse and upload

Where clients see these documents: Clients can view property documents by logging into their Customer Portal, selecting the property, and scrolling to the Documents section.

Share Client-Level Documents

Use this method to share documents relevant across all properties for a client (e.g., contracts, monthly reports, compliance certificates).

On the Uptick Web Platform

  1. Navigate to People > Clients

  2. Select and view the client

  3. Click the Documents tab

  4. Create a folder named public (must be all lowercase)

  5. Upload files by dragging them into the folder or clicking select files

Where clients see these documents: Clients can access these documents from the top of their Customer Portal by clicking the Documents button.

Automate with Default Folder Structures

Save time by automatically creating public folders for all new properties.

  1. Go to Control Panel > Properties

  2. In the default document structure field, add:

public

Or create subfolders:

public/Certificates
public/Site Plans
public/Reports

3. Click Save

For existing properties: Go to the property, click Documents > Add default folder structure to apply retroactively.

Important Notes

✓ Documents must be in a "public" folder (all lowercase) to be visible to clients

✓ Property vs. Client level:

  • Property documents = specific to one site

  • Client documents = shared across all properties for that client

✗ Task documents are NOT visible in the Customer Portal - even if placed in a public folder. To share task-related documents, move them to the property's public folder or use External Reports.

✓ File requirements: Ensure files have proper extensions (.pdf, .jpg, .docx, etc.) for proper display

How Clients Access Shared Documents
