Uptick Inbox: pricing and conversations

What Uptick Inbox costs, what counts as a chargeable conversation and what doesn't, how to keep track of your usage, and answers to the questions we get asked most.

Uptick Inbox is included free during the beta. From 13 October 2026, it becomes a paid part of your Uptick subscription.

You're charged for the emails your team actually does something with — not for every email that arrives.

What it costs

Conversations are bought in bundles of 1,000 per month:

Region

Per 1,000 conversations, per month

Australia / New Zealand

AU$200

United States / Canada

US$150 / CA$150

United Kingdom

£100

Most teams need one bundle. If you use more than 1,000 conversations in a month, further bundles of 1,000 are available at the same rate — so a team using 1,800 conversations a month would be on two bundles.

It's charged per workspace, not per user. Everyone in your team who needs the inbox can have it — adding people doesn't change the price.

What counts as a conversation

A conversation is an email thread your team replies to, or takes an AI action on.

The AI work that happens automatically on every email — sorting, matching, filing — is not charged. We only charge when Uptick has done something for you.

✅ What counts

  • An email you reply to

  • An email where you use AI to take an action — converting a PDF into a purchase order bill, approving a quote, drafting a reply you send

  • An email that triggers work in Uptick off the back of an AI suggestion you accept

❌ What doesn't count

  • An email nobody replies to or actions

  • An AI suggestion you don't accept

  • Automated sorting, filing, matching and assignment of email

  • Junk and spam

  • Internal notes on a ticket

  • Portal and system-generated email you only read and close

  • An email you forward on and close without replying

One thread, one conversation. However many times you reply, forward, or use AI on the same email thread, it's counted once. A thread that runs for three weeks and forty messages is still one conversation.

An example

Your team receives 3,400 emails in a month.

  • 900 are junk, marketing or automated notifications — not charged

  • 1,600 are read, filed and need no reply — not charged

  • 900 get a reply, a quote approval or a bill created from a PDF — 900 conversations

That sits inside one bundle of 1,000, so the cost that month is AU$200. A busier month of 1,300 conversations would need a second bundle.

Keeping track of your usage

Your live conversation count will be visible in License Manager at any time, so you can see where you are against your bundle before the month closes.

Frequently asked questions

When will we first be charged?

October is free. November is the first month you'll be charged for, and that lands on your December invoice. That gives you October to see your real usage before anything is billed.

Is it charged per user?

No. It's one price per bundle for your whole workspace, regardless of how many people use the inbox. There's no per-seat cost, so there's no reason to limit who gets access.

What happens if we go over 1,000 conversations?

You can add further bundles of 1,000 at the same rate. Talk to your Customer Success Manager and we'll sort it out.

Do unused conversations roll over?

No. Each month starts fresh — conversations you don't use don't carry into the next month.

If the AI suggests something and we don't use it, are we charged?

No. The AI reading an email, matching it and making a suggestion is free. The charge only attaches when you act on it.

We CC our shared mailbox on everything as a record. Does that cost us?

Only if someone replies to it or actions it. Email that arrives, gets filed and is never replied to is not charged — so using the inbox as your correspondence archive doesn't cost you anything.

Does a long back-and-forth cost more than a quick reply?

No. However many messages go back and forth on one thread, it's one conversation.

What if we decide not to continue?

Let your Customer Success Manager know before 13 October and we'll turn it off. Your email and history stay in Uptick.

Who do we talk to about pricing?

Your Customer Success Manager, or reply to any email from the Inbox team and we'll pick it up.
