Where do I find asset variants?
Asset variants are managed from the relevant Asset Type.
Go to Control Panel → Asset Types.
Find the asset type you want to update.
Click View.
Open the Variants tab.
From there, you can review, add, edit, or archive variants for that asset type.
I’ve added variants, but they’re not showing on the technician’s app. What should I check?
If a newly added variant is not appearing in the technician’s app, check the following:
Confirm the variant is active. Inactive variants will not appear for asset creation.
Reload the app data, If the variant was recently created, the technician may need to use Reload Data in the mobile app. If this is not helping, log out and back in the app to force a full refresh.
Can I use a serial number as part of an automatic asset label?
Asset labels can be configured using label patterns in Control Panel > Asset Types > Edit > Automatic Naming. Learn more in How do I set up automatic labelling for my assets?
Why do some asset types show an icon in lists?
The icon comes from the Floorplan icon set on the asset type (or its variant). Once an asset type has a Floorplan icon, that icon appears next to it wherever the asset type is shown in a list — including asset, service task and asset type lists. Asset types without a Floorplan icon show no icon.
To set or change it, edit the asset type or variant. Learn more Create and manage asset types.
