Zones in Uptick

Note: You must have the Zones extension enabled to use this feature

Zones are a way to group your properties to make it easier to manage tasks within a region. How Zones are grouped and labelled is entirely up to you - it can be a suburb cluster, municipality or any other kind of region grouping. 

When a task is generated for a property that has zone assigned to it, the zone field in the task will automatically be filled. This will only happen for tasks created after the zone has been assigned to the property, though you can still assign zones to tasks.

Setting up zones

  1. Go to Control panel > Zones

  2. You will now be on the zones page. From here click Create Zone, then double click the zone name field to type in the name of your zone. Repeat this step for as many zone as you require. Each zone can be toggle active or inactive if required.

  3. Click save changes to save your newly created zones.

Assigning zones to properties

Assigning zones to properties can be done by filling out the zone field when creating or updating a property. You can also assign zones to properties in bulk by taking the following steps:

  1. Go to Properties
  2. Click Add filter > Zone
  3. To see all properties that have no zone attached to them, set the zone filter to is, then select no zone from the drop-down list .

  4. Tick all the properties you want to assign to the same zone, then click Edit (x) properties
  5. In the popup window, find the Zone field, select the zone you want to apply to the selected properties and click Apply Changes.

Assigning zones to tasks

  1. Go to Tasks
  2. Click Add filter > Zone
  3. To see all properties that have no zone attached to them, set the zone filter to is, then select no zone from the drop-down list

  4. Tick all the tasks you want to assign to the same zone, then click Edit (x) tasks
  5. In the popup window, find the Zone field, select the zone you want to apply to the selected properties and click Apply Changes.

Filtering by Zone in the Default Tech Allocator

When filtering tasks to assign in the Default Tech Allocator, you can select zones to filter by from the Zone drop-down list. Multiple zones can be selected at once.
